# RustProxy 0.33.7

## 0.33.8: request-path performance and compatibility verification
This release reduces unnecessary cache-policy work and header copies when
caching is disabled, creates body-idle timers only when a read actually waits,
and formats request IDs without a generic per-byte formatter. Request IDs retain
fresh operating-system entropy and the same SHA-256 construction.
Live-log history moves entry cloning and eviction cleanup outside its mutex
critical section. Its bounded retention, best-effort insertion, drop counters,
live stream and external sinks retain their existing contracts. Saturation tests
record history losses explicitly alongside throughput and resource use.
The Web Server uses a narrow filesystem context and borrows its pinned root
descriptor for nonempty paths. Adaptive reads are bounded at 64 KiB. A local
file-body wrapper reports completion with the last expected byte, fixing HTTP/1
cache publication and complete-response accounting for ordinary and empty files.
Range, conditional, HEAD, sidecar, cancellation and short-file cases are covered
by additional tests; arbitrary upstream bodies retain their trailer semantics.
Compatibility testing also fixes existing explicit-Host-port validation,
long-form `.htaccess` Expires parsing, expired cache inventory visibility,
reserved backend-diagnostic header protection, escaped-JSON secret redaction,
and certificate deployment authorization ordering. Obsolete tests are updated
to exercise the existing documented behavior, including scheme-isolated cache
keys, purge generations, private administration responses and bundled error pages.
The LB panel, database schema, default TLS/caching policies and bounded pool
recycling retain their existing behavior. Live process regression, verified TLS,
H2/H3/QUIC and WebSocket runners, repeated nginx comparisons, resource sampling,
syscall profiling and a mixed-traffic soak are included in
[`scripts/performance/`](scripts/performance/README.md). See the
[verification contract](docs/TEST_REPORT.md) and the separately generated
[performance results](docs/PERFORMANCE_0.33.8.md) for measured outcomes and limits.
